fractures of thoughts
while driving to le meridian this morning i was thinking, the emergence of muslimah fashionista 's today and our public acceptance of muslimah celebrities of personalities have change though out these years. the fashion also changes. theres more choices now, sophisticated, and urban looking. now we can find wearable and fashionable items at local stores without having a dilemma or have to consider how to layer or cover the garment to make it wearable. even back then org yg tak pakai tudung pun ade yg tak gamak nk pakai baju2 exposing and baring here and there.
like it or not, i guess, it did started with karangkraf's an nur and dara.com also sunsilk tvc. eventhough the styling are .. err... from my point of view - ranging from 'ok hmm' to 'disastrous', seriously, they have to consider carik or hiring professional stylist for their shoots and perhaps get more sponsorship in order to reach and being accepted by broader viewers or readers and to keep up with current. otherwise, lagi 10 tahun pun the takuk fashion yg di publish will be the same -- jgn main tangkap muat saje -

before that, theres no way you can see women with tudung on tv or generally accepted by society. and the chances for muslimah's models are also limited. backthen , there are bienda, wahida, wardina - local artist and celebrities that still pursuing their carreer bertudung itupun mereka kadang2 dikomen macam2. then tv3 celebrities, now there's tv9 where most of their hosts, newscasters are wearing tudung. well all this baguslah. because, most of us here pun pakai tudung and these group of women potrays positive image of strong, independent woman , theres nothing stopping you from achieving your dreams. these phenomenon are good.
but...
like people say theres a very thin line of love and hate.
for those who live in limelight semuanya depends on intention, niat baik, hasilnya baik..
insyallah
work today
arrived at 8.30am. met nancy, and her husband ehsan the founder of www.sixteenr.com honestly, i was inspired by this couple working hand in hand to accomplish this project. they flew across the continent, travelling together with the family just to realize this project. Its not EASY... having to work and manage two kids at once . its an eye opener. i learnt! theres nothing stopping you from doing what you want to do. just do it! no excuse.
'scarfs that empower' . love it.
*credit to Nancy and Ehsan Hogue, Maria Elena for today's shoot. its nice to meet and work with all of you. Thank you =)
what i like about this project is the philosophy behind it. its not purely commercial. it has a cause. i wish i can initiate a project like this. but if you yet cant be the one who started it , why not be part of it? then money comes second, maybe third on the list..
